0-3

Well, my fantasy football team has roared out of the gate to an 0-3 start. Here are the high(low)-points:

  1. My money maker, Peyton Manning, is in the midst of his slowest start since probably his rookie season. 2 TD's through three games. Yes, the offense has to pick up sometime, but defenses have committed themselves to not letting him scourge them for 30 points per game. 30 fantasy point weekends may be a thing in the cracked rearview mirror.
  2. My #1 RB Jamal Lewis spent 4 months in prison for participating in a drug trade. I mistakingly trusted the lipless wonder Brian Billick when he said something to the effect of, "it will be good for Jamal in prison because his days and workouts will be very structured," or some such nonsense. The reality is that there is no way that prison can contend with the highest caliber training, psychological preparation, dietary training, and off-season conditioning that an NFL franchise can.
  3. My #2 RB, Ahman Green, is in one of those proverbial "I can't believe how fast the wheels came off" seasons that RB's usually go through right around the 30 year age mark. It doesn't help that Brett Favre is off to his worst start as a Packer. At least he's still a guy who looks like he's having fun out there, b/c that's what it's all about right here.
In a nutshell, I drafted as if it were 2003.

Andy, you are like the NO Saints of our football league. Lots of talent, but strangely, lots of really bad luck.
